The name of our clothing brand is a Dutch translation of Sew Sew, pronounced 'Nye Nye '(as in 'Bye' or 'Chai')
Suzanne, founder of clothing line NAAiNAAi and the business Butterwalk, went to a Steiner school In Holland and her love for creativity was well nourished there. Creativity turned out to nourish her too and so she went on to study anthroposofical artistic therapy.
When her own children were born Suzanne became a stay at home mum but the need to be creative stayed unchanged and when seeing a beautiful old wool blanket on a market stall in Totnes, Devon, she decided to make two children's gilets with it. From there the NAAiNAAi clothing range grew to offer women's and men's garments and then into Butterwalk. Located in the heart of Totnes, Butterwalk offers an extensive range of not only clothes, but carefully selected handmade and sustainable artisan products from ceramics to Jewellery and botanicals to leather goods. Sharing this physical and online space is important to Suzanne in her hopes to inspire people's lifestyle choices through beautiful and practical craft skills.
